I painted these two pieces plein air as quickly as I could to catch the shadows. The top piece is a view I have painted many times. I am just fascinated with this majestic piece of land. The bottom piece is of the little gazebo at Robin Hood Beach. It is unfinished because as I was painting, people kept parking their cars and golf carts in my view.Typical Sherwood, someone was having a party and using the parking lot so I had to move very quickly, which was kinda fun anyway. I will touch it up later using some photo references and try not to lose the color and spontaneity so I include it here as a "before". It was a beautiful painting day with great light and cool breezes. top 10x10in bottom 12x12in oil.
