We drove past the mill after seeing this painting. The spirit of this time of day Michael has cast is far richer than reality... Michaels reality is magical.

Thank you so much Carol. This goes to illustrate the fact that it's not about the object, necessarily, but it's ALWAYS about the light. The light reveals and conceals(thanks,DS)and transforms the ordinary into moments of beauty. However, I still prefer some emotional connection to the place I paint. I used to live near the mill in the'70's and have watched it evolve over decades from a ruin to a pristine park. To see this shadow yourself get there before 7
